Home Energy Saver Scheme (HESS) Advisor

Kildonan UnitingCare, is an agency of the Uniting Church of Australia which operates the largest welfare network in Australia. Kildonan is based across sites in the northern suburbs of Melbourne, and works to develop thriving and inclusive communities by empowering individuals and families to improve their lives, through the provision of effective community services and addressing issues of social and economic hardship.

The HESS Advisor is to deliver a state-wide financial literacy and energy efficiency program for low income and vulnerable consumers referred by financial counsellors, energy retailers and other bodies. The aim of the program is to support consumers experiencing difficulty meeting and paying for their energy needs.
The HESS Advisor provides information, support and advocacy to individuals and families who find them themselves in financial difficulties related to their energy use through phone advice and home visits. The role also provides community education to community groups and organisations about financial literacy and energy efficiency.
